The Georgia Tech Graduate City and Regional Planning program conducted a Fall 2006 master’s level brownfield studio to investigate redevelopment strategies and prepare framework plans for the Ford Hapeville vehicle assembly plant, which closed in late 2006. The goal of the studio was to provide the City of Hapeville and its citizens with new economic development and physical planning strategies that optimize re-use of the Ford site both in the short-term and long-term.
The studio was led by City and Regional Planning Professor Nancey Green Leigh and Adjunct Faculty John Skach. Urban design associate professor Richard Dagenhart provided additional design consultation. The student members of the studio were Jeri Cerere, Andrea Foard, Nathan Mai-Lombardo, Jeff Owen, Jay Perlmutter, Ryan Sherriff, and Jon Tuley.
Below you will find links to the final documents prepared by the studio team. If you have any questions, please email Dr. Nancey Green Leigh at NGLeigh@coa.gatech.edu or Andrea Foard at andrea.foard@gatech.edu.
