Dr. Charles Eastman“The Georgia Tech College of Architecture Ph.D. Program is highly demanding, exciting – and sometimes frustrating and difficult – but it is ultimately satisfying for the motivated and capable students for whom it is designed. The Ph.D. Program has a long and distinguished history that has produced many outstanding graduates. I invite you to apply and to join us.”
– Dr. Charles Eastman, director, College of Architecture Doctoral Program

“Doctoral studies in city and regional planning offers the rewards of conducting research and building theory in an applied professional field. By linking theory to practice, students and faculty explore the most important issues facing cities and regions today. Our focus is on building sustainable and vibrant urban environments and communities through interdisciplinary study and research. Our doctoral students have consistently graduated to top-flight academic and other professional careers. We welcome your interest and inquiries.”
– Dr. Michael Elliott, doctoral program coordinator, City and Regional Planning Program

“I appreciated the way the Ph.D. program was self-directed, allowing me to develop my own program of study. My outside field of study in environmental policy allowed me to complement my planning knowledge with coursework in policy analysis, giving my research more depth.  My Georgia Tech education has shaped who I've become as a planning scholar and educator.”
